Day Six: Nations

We are not ordinary people. We are part of a global movement whose mission is to rescue humanity from an evil plan. In the Psalms we are privy to a prophetic conversation between God the Father, and His Son, Jesus. It affirms the recurring theme that the Gospel will break out and into the whole earth.

“I will proclaim the Lord’s decree: He said to me, “You are my son; today I have become your father. Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.” (Psalms 2:7-8)

God announces that nations will be given to Jesus. Before Jesus ascended back to heaven, He spoke to the believers and gave the Great Commission. By doing so, He confirmed that He had indeed inherited the nations back for God. He said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations …” (Matthew 28:18-19)

Jesus further promised to be with us in this endeavour. What a privilege to be a tangible part of that mission. Some of us will actually go to nations. All of us will pray and give because this is our inheritance.

{prayer}

Father, help us to see the nations as you do. We look to the North, South, East and West and SEE a world in need of a Saviour. Use me, and all that I have to see Your Kingdom come on the earth, as it is in heaven. Amen.
